City under the Moon — Dance Drama Azure After the Rain

The dance drama centres around the tumultuous life of the famous Song dynasty poetess Li Qingzhao, also known as ‘foremost talented woman in Chinese literature history’.  By showcasing Li’s romantic world from a modern and creative perspective, the programme aims to promote traditional Chinese culture with such touching works.  Through recreating scenes of her life journey from youthful idealism to profound resilience, the dance drama embodies her lyrical verses capturing themes of love and loss; and celebrating her strength and optimism in adversity, her unwavering pursuit of cultural inheritance and her noble spirit.
