History has witnessed that China, with its immense cultural tolerance and motivational power, has managed to sustain its cultural heritage without interruption. Among this heritage, Chinese characters has evolved into one of the few writing systems in the world that has been continuously used across ancient to modern times. This exhibition focuses on the historical development of Chinese characters, with attractive settings that offer diverse audience experiences, breathing new life and meaning into ancient scripts. The exhibition consists of three main themes, namely ‘From Oracle Bone Script to Modern Chinese Characters’, ‘The Art of Oracle Bone Script’ and ‘Large-Scale Immersive XR Project on Oracle Bone Script’. The first part explores the origins and evolution of the Oracle Script; the second features digital artworks and installations and the third part deploys virtual reality technology to create an immersive world of Oracle Bone Script.
